Ayubi Bhai

I agree to agree with you. But the format about which you are thinking is dushprappo with Bangalees. We are all voracious eater and we eat eanything and everything and all bloody chai pash including the paper notes.

We have had to produce a set of incorruptible, committed and dedicated leaders and give them all power to streamline the dishavelled nation.

Many of Moghal emperors decendents are living in abject poverty but had they developed the entire country as a whole then there would be no poor and their decentdants would not be living in poverty. The lesson we learn from it is that how ever much wealth we may amass in our lifetime by legal or illegal mens do not ensure decent living of our poesterity. So however difficult or painful it may be , we have to do it . there is no alternative open to us.
Size is immaterial. the basic principles or rwecipe  for development are same..

Comparing Bangladesh with tiny Singapore is not justified for the followind reasons :

a. The poplation is no match with Bangladesh.

b. The political commitment and capability of the leader Li Quan Yi is no match to any of our past, present and future(as I view it) leaders.

c. The great leader Li Quan Yi was and is a totally incorruptible and a true patriot without having any allegience beyond the border of his tiny Island.

d. Laws enacted are implemented on equal basis and no discrimination and people feard the Law.

e. Whatever poltical promises were made were fullfilled in totality.

Almost total eradication of poverty is possible if we follow Singapore. There has to be trree pronged attack on corruption. (1)  Mordernise and streamline the beurocracy and pay tyhem the same salary that is paid by the MNCs to bangladeshi emplyees to the excecutives of similar status anfd age group. (2)  ACC must have intelligence gathering unit for corruption in all offices (3) Reported corruption be summerily dealt with and the punishment given be publicized and be declared unfit for further government service or do businss with any dovernment agency.. If this is done I am confident tht excepot for the super adventurous no ne will dare to be corrupt.

It is humanly not possible to eradicate totally the corruption from any society. If we look at the most developed countries who are champion HR and honesty(???) do have corruption at every level. Lately a governor, senator,CEO of big coglomerate in USA had to resign for corruption/debauchery. But the difference   is that  back in 3rd world countries specially in Bangladesh these types of criminals are garlanded and welcomed and allowed to sit in the holy Shangshad to pollute the sanctity by the so-called sentinels of corruption free nation bla bla bla. There are hundreds of examples set by BAL & BNP.

To my small knowledge to tame or arrest increase of corruption of any nature we need to have proper adherence to the rule of law by allowing the same to be implemented not just be in the books. "just like Kazir Goru Kitabey achey Goaley nai"

Any persons whosoever it is if caught with proof be tried with no bail system till end of the verdict. No one or party or dalal gushti be allowed to amass supporting rallies or jari bibriti for the alleged under trial accused. Violator be punished severely else we will fail in right dispensation of justice. And again if any accused is found wrongly or motivatedly haul;ed and tried then the initiators have to face same type of charges. Though it might sound difficult but we must do it to stop the whimsical and corrupt officials wrong acts.

I feel that one very easy way to stop monetary corruption is to enforce a rule that all Bank accounts beyond taka 1,00,000/00  be supported with Income Tax cetification.

The salaries of all categories of employees must commensurate with present price structure and be adjusted annually on the basis of inflation ratings will ease the stress on the expenditure of the employees.

Mr. Sengupta,
It is not a tall order to ask for but that is not going to happen till we change our attitude and start looking at the interest of the nation to be greater than our own personal and petty interests. We do not have to do much. Just follow Singapore and Vietnam and in no time this country will be a prosperous one.
ACC alone can not eradicate corruption. Beurocracy has to be trimmed and modernised and they should be paid as much as the private company pay their executives , just like singapore. On top it ACC must have intelligence to gather inforation on corruption. It is only then corruption can ve eliminated. You may ask from where will the money come for good salary of the government officials. The honest and efficient adminisratio will substanctially raise the earnings of the government and paying good salary to the emloyees will not be any problem..

When will Bangladesh rise to the occasion and when will Bangladeshi politicians, bureaucrats and law enforcers free up corruption and nepotism from their spider web? For Bangladesh to be truly the land of milk and honey, we need to get beyond corruption, political unrest and third party interference and think how we can free up nation. Once freed, it can do to Bangladesh what Bangladesh's different sectors and industry have done. The country had moved from being a food surplus state to a food deficient state. The common man is the biggest victim of the gross mismanagement of the food economy. We just don't need politicians on our lands please!

From past experience it became obvious that for having a government to deliver good governance we need to reform our whole political structure. The existing political culture failed to deliver as per expectation of the people. It has been agreed by all concerned that we need reform of our political parties to make them more transparent and people-oriented by cultivating democratic values.

There should be reforms in political activities and institutions to ensure free and fair election, an effective parliament, a government accountable to the people, strong state institutions, receipt of fair justice, curbing of corruption and violation of human rights, right to information, etc. How could this agenda of the people be fulfilled through this dialogue? Are we losing focus as regards the goal of the recent political dialogue?
