*Above: 'The True Furqan'*
You Cant Ignore this, send it to as many muslims as u can.

The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick A new Quran
is being distributed in Kuwait, titled "The True
Furqan". It is being described as the ayats of the
Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out
that the two American printing companies;'Omega 2001'
and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of
'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled
'The 21st Century Quran'! It is over 366 pages and is
inboth the Arabic and English languages...it is being
distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private

English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which
include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of
Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of
this incorporating the Christian belief of the three
spirits.

And this so! called
Quran opposes many Islamic
beliefs. in one of its ayats it describes having more
than one wife as fornication, divorce being
non-permissable and it uses a new system for the
sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It
states that Jihad is HARAAM.

This book even goes as far as attacking Allah,
Subhanahu wa Tahala!

All this is poisoning our children at approx. $3.

Brothers and Sisters please make sure you forward this
email to as many people as possible so that we can
stop this dangerous trick.

Please tell everyone you know and may Allah reward
you.

Sir,
Our whole concept of crime and corruption seems to have changed, if you look at the behaviour of our past ruling class. If murderers, rapists, smugglers, black marketers, listed criminals and people widely accused of being in possession of ill-gotten money and property could walk about freely both in and outside the corridors of power, as they indeed did over the last three decades or so, did we not get the impression that what we generally condemn as crime and corruption were not precisely so in the eyes of those in power? There is no denying that there was an unprecedented surge in crime and corruption in Bangladesh over the last sixteen years, especially during the rule of the immediate past BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami alliance government. Our country topped the list of the most corrupt countries in the world for four years in a row. Will the present caretaker government bow down before the dark forces of crime and corruption, or will it go ahead with its pro-democracy and pro-people reform package? This is the lakh taka question. People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I do not believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they cannot find them, make them.
Please learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning and working.

Ethnic minority communities living on the plains have continuously been thrown out of their ancestral lands, allegedly by government agencies, influential quarters and private organisations, revealed a survey.
It said the lands of poor ethnic minority people were being grabbed by a section of influential quarters using different techniques including use of forged documents and forcibly ousting them from their lands while the government was expropriating their lands for various development projects.
Land acquisition by the government for its so-called social forestation has made the highest number of ethnic minority families landless in the north-western areas, where a group of researchers conducted the survey on the state of land rights of indigenous people who have long been rallying for recognition of their constitutional rights.
The survey, conducted jointly by the Jatiya Adibashi Parishad, Incidin Bangladesh and Jahangirnagar University's Department of Anthropology, of the north-western ethnic minority communities since January this year, said the government hardly paid any heed to the causes and miseries of the communities.
The preliminary result of the study showed that a total of 1,983 ethnic minority families in 10 north-western districts lost control over 1,748.36 acres of land in the last few years. The forest department grabbed the largest area of 1,185.76 acres, followed by 356.7 acres by different influential quarters who evicted the rightful owners from their ancestral lands by forging documents. Lands used as common property, graveyards and shrines were also grabbed, said the study, and made the shocking revelation that every indigenous family lost more or less than one acre of land.
   While launching the
findings of the survey at a workshop on the settlement of north-western indigenous people's land disputes on Saturday at the National Press Club, the secretary-general of the parishad, Rabindra Saren, asked the government to
form an effective land commission to settle the disputes and rehabilitate the indigenous people who were evicted from their lands.
Researchers and experts say that the fate of over 1.5 million indigenous people, who represent 58 small and large groups living in hilly and plain lands across the country, is almost same.
The majority of the indigenous people's household income basically depends on agricultural work.
But their food security and habitat are at stake, as a result of land-grabbing and loss of their traditional sources of livelihood, they said.
The study showed that influential quarters stole land from 285 indigenous families in Naogaon district. Almost a similar situation is seen in Natore, Bogra, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Thakurgaon and Panchagar districts. In Dinajpur district alone, the forest department occupies 1,182.07 acres of land after dispossessing 411 indigenous families.
One of the former chiefs of the caretaker government, Habibur Rahman, said that the activists must make a firm commitment to bring to an end to the disputes on land. There are similar disputes in many countries like Canada, America, Latin America and Australia.
He said that the indigenous people should not be satisfied by only realising their demand for the formation of a land commission. 'You must produce evidence before the commission so that it works in your favour.'
The experts and rights activists opined that the survey has revealed only a partial picture of the land disputes.
They said that they need more surveys to reveal the whole truth.
'This survey's findings are like the tip of the iceberg, the real situation is more disastrous,' said Moazzem Hossain, director of Gram Bikash Kendra, a non-governmental organisation working for realisation of the indigenous people's demands.
He said that the state has taken hardly any initiative to rehabilitate or compensate the dispossessed indigenous families despite the fact that the government took away their lands for different development projects.
Ushatan Talukdar, the chief of the political wing of the Parbattya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity, asked the government to ensure justice to the ethic minority groups. He said that the minorities have always remained suppressed, and the government has always sided with the powerful quarters. 'This attitude should be changed.'

[vinnomot] Republicans fear John McCain defeat against Barack Obama(Telegraph Rep ort)

Republicans fear John McCain defeat against Barack Obama

Senior Republicans expressed grave fears on Sunday about the prospects of Senator John McCain, their candidate, against Senator Barack Obama in November's general election.

Barack Obama has built a narrow, but consistent, three-point lead over the Republican in national polls

Mr Obama appeared to be on the verge of clinching the Democratic presidential nomination after overtaking Senator Hillary Clinton in the count of party super-delegates at the weekend.

While Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton are contesting two more primaries in Oregon and West Virginia tomorrow, Republicans will be trying to hold on to a Congressional seat in a Mississippi by-election, having lost two other recent by-elections in formerly solid Republican areas.

Smarting after those defeats, Newt Gingrich, a Republican and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, said that his party faced "a real disaster" in November, when the House of Representatives and a third of the 100 Senate seats will be contested along with the presidency.

advertisement

Fred Barnes, a leading Right-wing commentator, wrote in the Weekly Standard: "Conservatives won a sweeping victory in an enormously important election the week before last. Unfortunately, it happened in England. Prospects for Republicans in the 2008 election here at home look grim."

While many had thought that only Mrs Clinton would pose a serious challenge to Mr McCain, Mr Obama has now built a narrow, but consistent, three-point lead over the Republican in national polls. Experienced voices in the party are also aware that the Democrat's fundraising skills are likely to give Mr Obama approximately a three to one financial advantage in the general election.

Mr Obama was able to indulge in the luxury of a day with his family in Chicago and to peruse the considerable media speculation about who he may choose as his vice-presidential running mate.

According to Robert Novak, the columnist, the candidate's wife Michelle has ruled out placing Mrs Clinton on the ticket, after being sickened by her negative campaigning. But Ted Strickland, a Clinton supporter who is governor of Ohio, has emerged as a contender, in part because of his potential ability to deliver a vital swing state.

Spokesmen for both camps denied speculation that they were in talks about sharing the ticket, as well as ruling out suggestions that Mrs Clinton might bow out early in exchange for Mr Obama writing off her campaign debts.

But in an indication that Mrs Clinton is beginning to accept her fate, she referred to her campaign in the past tense over the weekend. Rather than repeating attacks on her opponent, she spoke of the need to unite the party.

Although the former First Lady is expected to win tomorrow's primary in West Virginia, it will not make any significant difference to Mr Obama's lead in pledged delegates, awarded in accordance with primary results, or super-delegates, the senior party members and Congressmen who will effectively decide the contest and are joining his ranks in steadily growing numbers.

With Mr Obama already turning the focus of his campaign on Mr McCain, Republicans are facing up to the highest disapproval ratings for a president, George W Bush, in living memory and a recent poll in which 80 per cent said the country was heading in the wrong direction.
