What shocked me most is, a distinguish gentleman like Gopalda, advocating for a terrorist godfather like Hazari for "annonymous" reason. Please note that, I would never criticize anyone for their personal political belief, let alone Gopalda. Whatever Faruque Alamgir Bhai portrayed about Hazari is no myth, but very bitter truth.
If Hazari got ONE good virtue, then it is his heroics during our glorious liberation war. I would even salute him million times for the same reason. But remember, during 1971, each and every citizen were freedom fighters (except for the Rajakars). On that account Mr Hazari was no special, not even close to what Bongo Bir Kader Siddique did, let alone our sector commandars. So why Mr Hazari would be treated so specialy?
I totaly agree with Gopalda, about the messy political scenerio that exist in Bangladesh, orchestrad by BNP and Awami Leage. I beleive Gopalda's carefull eyes did observe that regular contributors here, never condone such acts. Please consider my next paragraph as a non partisan view.
True both BNP and Awami Leage harbors terrorists, use black money and mussle power, disrupts daily live and Bangladesh's economy at will, in the name of democracy. But terrorist harboring became an art and an instituition during the rule of Awami Leage in 1996. Never in the history of Bangladesh, there were that many godfathers who under direct political support, created nationwide terrorist hubs.
To refresh the memory of the readers, may I draw their attention to the following Awami Leage leaders.
1. Haji Mokbul former MP of Dhanmondi-Mohammadpur: Sheltered and harbored Golakata Mojibor and others.
2. Shahmim Osman former MP of Narayanganj: Under his constituency declared then opposition leader Khaleda Zia person non grata, by using his mussle/political power. Even Khaleda's motorcade was shot at by his cadres. Did he own Naraynaganj?
3. Altaf Hossain Golandaz: late former MP of Mymensingh: He only didnot terrorize the opposition, but also his own family members. His own wife along with his daughter in law filed police case against him for violence and physical abuse.
4. Abul Hasnaat Abdullah: Former MP of Borishal and cousin of Sheikh Rehana: Accused of raping a hindu girl (published in weekly Jai Jai Din), with his patronage, his cadres had created a hub and heaven for terrorists in Borishal district. And his virtue of land piracy also had successfully tranfered to his sons, who by following his footsteps, tried to grab a house in Dhanmondi itself !
5. Dr H B Iqbal former MP Dhaka: He is no Doctorate degree holder, neither a doctor, but a man power businessman. Because of his strong association with Awami Leage, he got away with crimes like money laundering and cheating. He is notorious for openly shooting at a BNP procession in Dhaka. Later which our equaly famous so called columnist Aga Chow tried to described as false and the picture published on this issue as "camera tricks."
6. Haji Selim former MP Dhaka: Notorious landgrabber and extortionist. Has his own cadres to terrorize the people of Lalbagh constituency.
The list may go long, but I guess the readers have recalled the saintly acts of those godfathers already. And Hazari is definitely one of them.
Let us give benifit of doubt to Hazari from all his criminal activities for argument sake. Let us judge him as an editor and writer. To my distaste and disgust I have found his writing is as dirty as Shek Hasina's past comments.
Look at the issue of Hazarikaonline where Hazari hinted the sexual submission of Tarek Zia's wife Dr. Zubayada ( Headlined as: Ato Raate ora ok kothai niye jeto?) to the current law and order personals.
Thus Hazari's perversion have been expressed in his own publication. Does he posses enough education to run a newspaper? His lack of knowledge in publication norms proves otherwise. He is old enough to realize that, the euphoria of Awami Leage + Sheikh Mujib = Bangladesh, is over since 1975. I guess he may be old but not matured to pull himself off from Awami fantasyland in his own mind.
And where does his publication gets published from? Not from Bangladesh, Hmm !
And why not?
There is no intention of my part to disrespect dear Gopalda. One must learn thoroughly about a person before showing unconditional loyality. Thats what I expect of Gopalda, because he has proven himself much better and bigger than Hazari and likeminded. Water always flows downwards.
Musfique.
