ড. কামাল হোসেন কালো টাকার মালিক। কালো টাকার মালিকদের নির্বাচনে অযোগ্য ঘোষণা করার আন্দোলনের প্রবক্তা হয়েও তিনি ২০০৬-০৭ অর্থ বছরে আড়াই কোটি টাকার বেশি কালো টাকা সাদা করেছেন। ২০০৪-০৫ অর্থ বছরে তিনি তার প্রদর্শিত আয় দেখিয়েছেন মাত্র ১৫ লাখ ২২ হাজার ৯৯৯ টাকা। আর নেট সম্পত্তি দেখিয়েছেন মাত্র ৩৩ লাখ ৫১ হাজার ৯৬৭ টাকা। ২০০৫-০৬ অর্থ বছরে প্রদর্শিত আয় দেখিয়েছেন ৭ লাখ ৬৮ হাজার ২২১ টাকা। নেট সম্পদ দেখিয়েছেন ৭৭ লাখ ৮ হাজার ৮৪ টাকা। তার মতো একজন আইনজীবী দেশ, জাতি ও সরকারের সঙ্গে এমন প্রতারণা করতে পারেন এটা বিশ্বাস করতে কষ্ট হয়।
আশির দশকের একশ এক ছাত্র নেতার অভিযোগ
কেউই আইনের ঊর্ধ্বে নয়, এসব অভিযোগ সত্য হলে আমারও বিচার হওয়া উচিত। আমাকে চিরদিনের জন্য রাজনীতি থেকে নির্বাসনে পাঠানো উচিত। সকলেরই বাকস্বাধীনতা আছে। সুতরাং তারা (ছাত্রনেতারা) বলতেই পারেন। তবে তথ্য-প্রমাণ ছাড়া বললে সে ক্ষেত্রে মানহানি কিংবা লাইবেলের বিষয়টি আমার দিক থেকে আমিও বিচার করবো। তাই যারা এমন অভিযোগ করেছেন তারা মিথ্যা কথা বলে আমাকে হেয় করার চেষ্টা করলে মানহানির দায়ে আইনের কাছে জবাব দেয়ার জন্য তাদের প্রস্তুত থাকা উচিত।

Comparing Bangladesh with tiny Singapore is not justified for the followind reasons :

a. The poplation is no match with Bangladesh.

b. The political commitment and capability of the leader Li Quan Yi is no match to any of our past, present and future(as I view it) leaders.

c. The great leader Li Quan Yi was and is a totally incorruptible and a true patriot without having any allegience beyond the border of his tiny Island.

d. Laws enacted are implemented on equal basis and no discrimination and people feard the Law.

e. Whatever poltical promises were made were fullfilled in totality.

It is humanly not possible to eradicate totally the corruption from any society. If we look at the most developed countries who are champion HR and honesty(???) do have corruption at every level. Lately a governor,senator,CEO of big coglomerate in USA had to resign for corruption/debauchery. And again if any accused is found wrongly or motivatedly haul;ed and tried then the initiators have to face same type of charges. Though it might sound difficult but we must do it to stop the whimsical and corrupt officials wrong acts.

I feel that one very easy way to stop monetary corruption is to enforce a rule that all Bank accounts beyond taka 1,00,000/00 be supported with Income Tax cetification.

The salaries of all categories of employees must commensurate with present price structure and be adjusted annually on the basis of inflation ratings will ease the stress on the expenditure of the employees.

Are we losing focus as regards the goal of the recent political dialogue?

You are correct that we could not or did not produce any patriot leader to lead us.
We were forced to worship the leaders who are facists in nature and activities and whose hands were full of blood and who strangulated the democracy but their followers shed ocean of crocodiles tears for establishinmg the same !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our politicians are nothing but a ghetto of mockers and thugs and criminals(of course with only few exceptions).Unless we get rid of these mockers we will be nowhere.

So, friends as we have no political backbone we have isten to anybody or everybody's sermons.

Saudi Arabian Court Ratifies Beheading Of Turkish Barber

HATAY - A Saudi Arabian court on Thursday ratified the conviction of Turkish barber Sabri Bogday, who was sentenced to beheading in Saudi Arabia on charges of "cursing the name of God."

Bogday has been in jail for 13 months in Saudi Arabia after a quarrel with a neighbor near his barber shop. Bogday was accused of cursing the name of God.

Bogday`s wife, Muazzez, told the A.A that family members were in Saudi Arabia for the appeal hearing of the case. She said they would once again appeal against the verdict.

"We are devastated after the court verdict today," she said. "We lost all our hopes. We do not know what to do next."

Our politicians/leaders are more than happy to listen to their Nochihot(Advise). Even in the past we saw how our top leaders complain to foreign diplomats against the ruling government. Some still believe that to rule Bangladesh foreign backing/patronage is a must .

Dr. Ahmed, Principal investigator from the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), discovered a highly efficient inhibitor of botulinum neurotoxin type A, the most potent of seven neurotoxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory. This finding can lead to a very effective drug to stop the devastating effects of the toxin for therapeutic use. Dr. Ahmed earlier initiated the structure-based inhibitor design as part of the institute's bio-defense research program. While the internet version is already available in the April issue of the prestigious 'Journal of Biological Chemistry', the manuscript is indeed in press. The finding was an instant hit and picked up widely by the US main-stream media.

Dr. Ahmed, a local resident of North Potomac, Maryland, is a senior scientist at the Dept. of Molecular Biology, USAMRIID, Fort Detrick , Maryland , USA, previously served as a lecturer of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Dhaka, and is one of the founder members of the Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka .
