| RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has not stopped issuing visas to Bangladeshi nationals seeking employment in industrial and agricultural sectors or even in households, the Bangladesh Embassy reiterated yesterday. "The Kingdom is currently recruiting general laborers and workers in different categories as well as housemaids from Bangladesh," said M. Haroonor Rashid, an embassy spokesman. Rashid was commenting on reports that a Saudi government ban on Bangladeshi workers is continuing. The reports, which appeared in a section of local and Bangladeshi press, said that the Kingdom is also refusing to allow transfers of sponsorship for workers and professionals of a particular country. "Riyadh has never officially declared any total or partial ban on Bangladeshi workers as reported in the media," Rashid said. The reports said Saudi government agencies have been refusing to extend the residency permits of Bangladeshi immigrants' children aged 18 and above. "The reports are misleading and untrue," Rashid said, substantiating the views of Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah bin Naser Al-Busairi, who said recently that the Kingdom has not put any restriction on hiring Bangladeshi workers. "No official notification regarding the ban has been sent to the embassy at any time this year, and no such ban exists," Rashid said, while explaining that problems arose and got compounded because of the complicity of a few workers in some criminal activities earlier this year. The spokesman said that some companies and individuals, who were against the interests of Bangladeshis, launched a campaign to tarnish the image of the country at that time. "And this campaign is still continuing," he added. Rashid pointed out that the total number of Bangladeshi workers exceeds 1.5 million. |

| Excerpts from an editorial in The Guardian yesterday: In the last few days, Britain's most senior military commander in Afghanistan and the British ambassador in Kabul have both been reported as saying that the war in Afghanistan cannot be won militarily and that the current coalition strategy is failing. They are right. Fighting in Helmand, the British commander, Brig. Mark Carleton-Smith, is sensibly downbeat in his assessment of what his force can achieve. His men, sustaining heavy losses, have taken the sting out of the Taleban this year. But he knows that the conflict is not an alternative to a political settlement that would include parts of the Taleban. Saying this and achieving a deal are two different things, however. As things stand, each NATO country that contributes militarily peers at Afghanistan through the prism of its own troop deployment. Some, like the French, who lost 10 soldiers in an ill-planned reconnaissance patrol outside Kabul in August, have had to relearn old lessons. Separate NATO forces are doing their own thing in Helmand, Uruzgan and Kunduz. More damaging still is the absence of a common political strategy. Kabul's foreign diplomats these days no longer try to hide their disdain for President Hamid Karzai and his clan. On Monday the president's brother, Ahmed Wali Karzai, the chief of Kandahar council, was forced to deny a well-sourced story in the New York Times that he was involved in the heroin trade. He claimed he was the punchbag for US anger over his brother's criticism of a US missile attack which killed 90 villagers, most of them children. Whatever the truth, the working relationship between satrap and chief foreign sponsor is now badly frayed. Little wonder that Britain's ambassador to Kabul says that Karzai's government has lost all trust at home. Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles' point — as reported by a French satirical magazine, but not denied — goes wider than the issue of the Afghan president, who unwisely became the linchpin of Washington's strategy. It involves the wider corruption of his regime, which no reconstruction effort, however sustained, can survive. As Lord Ashdown, who nearly became the UN boss in Kabul, has said, until governance is improved, there is no hope of persuading Afghans that the central government is a better bet than the Taleban. Two events could turn this narrative of failure around: The election of new leaders in both Washington and Kabul. Both new leaders would do well to distinguish between the Taleban and the jihadis, and tackle reality rather than set forth Panglossian hopes. As it is, this intervention is going the way of all others in this part of the world — badly. |

History notes how intolerant and brutal Christianity became as the official religion of the Roman Empire, now called "The Holy Roman Empire". While earlier the anti-state, criminal-minded and rebellious Christians were tortured, killed and put to lions in the Roman circus, soon it were the non-Christians, heretics and pagans who were tortured, burnt, drowned, killed or put to lions in the Roman Christian circus. The misdeeds of the Christian Church continued for centuries as shown by such heinous Christian crimes against humanity during the Inquisition of 16-18th century Europe when hundreds of thousands of European women were burnt as witches; when hundreds of thousands of European intellectuals and heretics were tortured and killed or burnt at stakes......

Last year the German and Dutch schools made it necessary for all German and Dutch students to learn about Islam (as reported by the Jihad watch website), although it is the Muslims who should have been asked to learn about their host society's culture. Now the French and British are also moving towards the teaching of medieval and pathological Islam in their schools. The surviving Western Christianity continued its political activities under the guise of religious activities and soon re-emerged as the "Holy Roman German Empire" around 800 C .E. which continued till 1814 C .E. (AD) when Napoleon Bonaparte conquered it; and therefore the Roman Christian Church (Catholic and Protestant as well as its other versions) accepted Napoleon Bonaparte as the Holy Roman Emperor. The Holy Roman Emperors acted as the temporal wing of the Roman Christianity (of both Roman Catholic and Roman Protestant varieties) - as Christianity was indeed a political and religious ideology of the Holy Roman Empire. In the same way, the present Christian kings/Queens of today as well as their democratically elected versions like the Presidents or Prime Ministers, the likes of the imbecile US President Bush, are in fact the « Democracy-Emperors » - but called Presidents as are the likes of Mr.Tony Blair called the Prime Ministers, they are the temporal instruments of the Roman Christianity, (of all the different labels like Roman Catholic, Roman Methodist, Roman Protestant and Roman Anglican etc. etc.), an ideology of the ever present Roman Empire, whose present version is called the Holy Roman British Empire.
The evil deeds of Roman Christianity of different brands include : inspiring, motivating and supporting the brutal world conquest and colonisation, destruction of cultures and civilisations of the colonised peoples: this happened under different Christian or Islamic empires and kingdoms (Islam is essentially a wild Arab cultural version of Arian sect of early Roman Christianity: Arianism is the theological teaching of Arius [c.
