[vinnomot] Re: [notun_bangladesh] Why Bangladesh should Recognize Three Founding Fathers, not One

Dear Mr. Kajimel

Yes, rule of Law must above any individual of the country and no sympathy be shown because of background of the criminals. Once Rule of Law gets it's footings strong than normalcy will restore automatically.

All ism except Bangladesh ism be absolutely banned and with special reference to any religion/interested groups/Atel's asso etc etc be not allowed.

Restriction on
quote "A strict "Don't ask, don't say" policy must be enforced for all controversial issues such as religion, sex, age, earning, family affairs, etc"Unquote  be imposed with the legal protection for the victim as well for the violator.

Once the administration is decentralized the importance of these incompetent chors and chechor politicians and their goons will diminish plus the quisling "Atel's" will die starving I am sure.

Bangladesh has to run according to it's own priority, choice and necessity and not be tabedar to the best friends the muscle power indi or paki or sat sumudra par friewnds.

Let Bangladesh function on it's own it will surely turn itself as an emetging tiger as dreamt.

I fully agree with the idea that we should not unnecessarily invest our time and effort to install a or 3 or more DADs for the country. The absolute owner of the country is the PUBLIC of the country, not any individual or any organization. All people and all organizations must have absolute democratic rights and all must act democratically. No one can harm nobody else on no reasons. If anybody breaks the rule, the LEA (Law Enforcement Authority), must deal with him/her per the laws of the country, with legal due processes.

By no means the political and administrative activities be based on or be influenced by any RELIGION, any ISM such as communism, socialism, sectorianism, etc.; and must remain free from any deviations from MODERN DEMOCRACY, where everybody can participate in the political process (including guarantying all rights of the minorities), not offending the others; and everybody must have the right of getting all government and organizational information. A strict "Don't ask, don't say" policy must be enforced for all controversial issues such as religion, sex, age, earning, family affairs, etc.

Also the central government form of administration must be abolished, instituting the fully functional local governments for all districts or Upojelas such to administer law and order (police, court, rapid-action units etc.), properties (registration, taxing, ownership, loans, foreclosures, roads, highways, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, etc.), businesses (licensing, controls, checking, quality controls, etc.), in other words: all governmental administration and controls. Central Government should only keep treasury, Army, inter-regional commerce, foreign-affairs, monetary policy; and in addition, to help and assists in making policies of all fields of the local governments.

If we can invest our energy and thoughts in these lines, we may change "Dependence on MAN" to "Dependence on Systems" that will save our nation and stabilize the country for far future. Short of it would just be disasters and pains for us ahead.

Thanks and have a great day.

Friends

First of my question is that do we need to install some one as "Father" ? If yes, then why ??????????????????

Why we are insisting to this effect knowing that any decision will surely stir the nation seriously and divide it further which will benefit the only and the only best friend and own brother (as per K. nandini, Ist Secy. indi High commission,Dhaka) indi.

How many countries do have an installed "Dad" ??????????

May be "Hatey Gona few" and that too with total unanimity not bifurcated or multifaceted like us.

I agree with Dr. Bahar about the introduction he made about the three great leaders.

Let us forget this unnecessary act and pave the way to avoid any further confusion amongst already confused and dishavelled nation.

It is humanly impossible to biologically give birth to a nation. So founding fathers are recognized as a symbolic gesture for their contributions. Generally, talking about a father figure should be honest, compassionate, defender of rights and neutral. If we take these as the basic characters in a father let's see who has all of them, or in their lacking, shall we be better off if we accept all three of them? We will star with the elderly one; Bhasani

Maulana Bhasani
Born in 1885
Fought for the 1940 Lahore resolution and the autonomy of East Bengal
Founded the institutions, the Awami Muslim League, later named a the Awami League, and the leadng newspaper, Ittifaq.
Presided over the meeting to break the 144 and voted to break carfew that led to the 21 February protest movement.( Mujib was in Jail)
In 1969 fought for Mujib's arrest and brought down Ayubi rule.
Went to India and was the chairman of the government in exile.
Led the Farakka movement against Indian water aggression in 1976
Politics as an ebadat (service to humanity) / refused to become president./ lived selfless life among peasants/ dressed like a peasant/ eat the food/ was a sufi pir

 Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
Born in 1920
Worked with Shohrowardhy and Bhasani
Was the anti-corruption minister in Jukto Front cabinet.
Gave the 6 points programe based on Bhasani's autonomy demand and the Lahore resolution
Gave the historic 7th March Speech
Was a great agitator
Negotiated for Pakistani unity until the 25th of March 1971
Surrendered to the Pakistani Army.
Throughout the war was as in Pakistani Jail
After the return he established the one party system BAKSAL Party
Unfortunately, bragged in the Parliament after the Siraj Sikdar's death in police custody in January 1975: " Aaj Kothay Siraj Sikdar? Jatir pita hoia mushkile poira gesi, laal ghora dabraya dimu…etc."
Became pro-IndianSigned Farakka dam opening and signed many other pacts with India in the 25 year Treaty.
Died in a coup led by his collegue Mostaque Ahamed and some Freedom Fighters majors; Dalim, Farouk etc.
While he was a good political party organizer, it was difficult for him to be a good administrator and a nation-builder.
The nation remained stunned at the death. He was buried unceremoniously.

Ziaur Rahman
Born in 1936
Declared independence on behalf of Mujibur Rahman, the then elected leader.
Fought in the liberation war.
 Later became the President
Founder of SARCC
Was known to be personally honest and brought order over anarchy of the BAKSAL
Led to the dissolution of BAKSAL and the opening of multi Party system and the newspaper freedom
Declared Bangladesh's nationalism as being Bangladeshi nationalism
Died in a coup in Chittagong
Buried with state honor and the mass people showing respect.

The above are Bangladesh's modern leaders. To me perhaps without even one of then Bangladesh would have witnessed great difficulties. Their contributions made Bangladesh  to become a nation. There are people who would like to accept only one or none as the founding fathers. Seeing from a different light, I personally believe, all of them are symbolically important. Surprisingly, Bhasani appear more like Gandhi of India, a spiritual leader, Mujib look more like the elected Prime Minister Nehru but lacked Nehru's statesmanship and Zia looks more like Patel for some similarities and also for many differences.
Bhasani shows to be both compassionate and a fatherly figure while Mujib was stern and Zia was personally honest. Seen above, none seems to possess all the qualities to claim the symbolic position as the sole father of the nation. It is certain that a section of the BAKSAL's now in AL's pro-Indian, hero-worshippers who wish to create division among Bangladeshi people will never accept this idea. But for the sake of national consensus, which is lacking today, it is very important that all the three of Bangladesh's leaders should be recognized as the founding fathers of the Bangladesh nation. If needed, there should be a national referendum on the issue of: one or the three.
Additionally, Bangladeshshould continue to recognize August 15 as a holyday; for democratic participation not killing of leaders is not the way to solve nation's problems. It was wrong to kill Sheikh Mujib and his family.
