Fw: [vinnomot] RE: [khabor.com] Join the Hunger Strike

Mr. Syed Chowdhury,

Many thanks for your concern for the Bangladeshi minorities. It is true that Bangladeshi Muslims are more tolerant to non muslims than their counterpart Hindus of India.Bangladesh Hindu Bouddhist Christian Unity council is an organization created by mostly pro Awami believers therefore you won't see any Bangladeshi community leaders(muslim) presence  in their meetings who does not believe in Awami idiology. Even they donot invite  other independent intelllectuals to their meetings. They can include Muslim in their  organizations name, but I donot think they want unity with the Bangladeshi Muslims.

Many thanks.

M.Anwar

I am a long time member of Amnesty International, very much supportive to defend the
rights of minority groups in Bangladesh.
However, I am puzzled sometimes seeing that what the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian
Unity Council, USA is doing is not the right way..for example their organization could
have been names as 'Bangladesh Muslim Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, USA.
instead Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, USA.
Like me there are many Bangladeshi people who are againt any opression. In fact people of
Bangladesh are historically liberal (there is exception everywhere).. so why excluding
Muslims from their organization ? I would ask the members of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist
Christian Unity Council, USA to voice on this issue.
