Spread of democracy in the Middle East won't be a good news for western nations. If democratic elections are held in the MIddle East, the possibility is that radicals/anti-Americans will definitely win the election like what happened in Palestine, Lebanon, Algeria, Iran and few other countries.

 Can the western nations 'digest' a democratic Middle East ?

Most King's/Khalifa's/Amir's of Middle East are pro American by nature and can be dictated to serve western intererst. Isn't it better for western nations to keep them in power for their own interest than creating a democratic Middle East ?
