CR Dutta's view can be his own but Bangladeshis think Islam differently. He may not like Islam but most Bangladeshis believe that Islam is their religion and there is no harm it remains state religion. Even if any referendum is done about this, it will easily be passed from the parliament even kottor secularist wami Leaguers will support in favor this bill.
Hasina's trusted ally Ho Mo Ershad established Islam as state riligion of Bangladesh. It was not Zia or Mujib or Moshtaque who established Islam as state religion of Bangladesh. Then why C.R. Dutta's never cricize Ho Mo Ershad for this?
My personal opinion is that no government has the guts to change this constitutionally .
