Demanding formulation of common law with rights to succession of adoption

 

There are no law exist law with inhumanity in the present society. Traditionally adoption systems are maintaining from very beginning due to absence of legal obligation adoption facilities are misuse and many o them are use adopt children in child trafficking, sexual abuse and finally the crime is increasing day by day in the society. So that speakers demanding separate common law for adoption, where adopt children will get the rights of succession from adoptive father and adoption system will brought under legal system. So that CRC will ensure. This was stated the divisional workshop arranged by Bangladesh Shishu Adudikar Forum (BSAF) and Integrated Social Development Effort (ISDE) Bangladesh on last 23 August'08 at Chittagong Press Club Auditorium.

 

The workshop was presided over Executive Director ISDE S M Nazer Hossain and Dr. Shanaz Huda, Professor, law dept Dhaka University were presented key note paper. Amongst others Chittagong City Corporation Counselor Shahidul Alam, Ex Secretary Chittagong District Bar Association Advocate Iftekhar Siamul Chowdhury, President District Eocial Enterprenuer, Absar Khan, Chittagong City Corporation counselor Monowara Begume Moni, President District marriage Register Kazi Yosuf Chowdhury, Advocate Bashanti Praba Palit, Central Coordinator of Proshika Sazeda Begume, Nuri Akbah Chouwury, OACH, Khairunnahra BITA, Ruhul Muhit Chowdhury, Mamata, S M Fakrul Islam DAM, Ratan das OWDEB, Ajoy Mitra Shanku, Deluar Hossain, Proshika Chandan barua, Aparajeya Bangladesh, Mowlana Harun Chowdhury, Purabi das of radio Today, father Joshem Gomes were took part the discussion. The workshop was modertaed by Kazi Iqbal bar sabery of CSDF and Moinuddin Ahmed of BSAF.

    

In the key note speech Dr Shahnaj Huda explain the CRC article 21 and why the government rejects the articles. She make example about the adoption from various Muslim and other countries like Turkey and Indonesia and our neighborhood country  India also allow the adoption and has give rights to assets. Some of them are allow giving rights of asset through gift to adopt son by adaptive fathers.    

 

Participants given emphasis to formulate separate law for adoption to ensure the rights of adopt children. Other wise adopt children deprived from rights of succession. This way many of them become trafficked to others countries and some of them are misuse the adopt children.  Beside participants urge to ensure uniform family code, which is exist in the neighborhood country like India. About 65 representatives from researcher, teachers, government and non government departments, journalist, religious and social leaders were participated the workshop.
