"Rewards" for Leadership irresponsibility or Minus 2 Strategy?

SCOPE: Right man at the right place at the wrong time! Yesterday, I went to a sacred "MILAD MAHFIL" in the neighborhood; initially thought to be a part of a graduation party's opening "Dowa prayer" but then discovered that it was actually arranged to glorify the stupendous leadership success of our "Netri" number one, the Monster of super-Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom of Speech, the undisputed Awami League "Chairwoman for life" Sk. Hasina Wajed. During the entire "Monazat", I noticed many of her dedicated and toady lieutenants quietly weeping for their role model's expedited recovery. It was truly an emotional and heart breaking scenario! I hardly could manage to suppress my own tears. At the end of this long elegy like "Munajat", I respectfully reminded the attending "Hujur" on not mentioning of our national physicist Dr. Wajed Meah (Hasina's husband) who has also been badly sick for quite sometimes. I also pressed him to possibly "re-run" another "Munajat" especially for the "release" of the front runner of our democracy Mrs. Khaleda Zia, for her 2 "spoiled" children, for the ultimate victory of Awami League in the upcoming national election, for the Cyclone "Sidr" victims and finally a special Dowa for the victory of Barrack Obama or/and McCain! I noticed instant whispering among some AL sycophants in the audience and the staring "Hujur" (at me) with a weird look of curious suspicions! Anyway, my request eventually did not go through and was thrown out the window. No wonder why nonstop "Milad Mahfils" have become everyday events at many Bangladesh families in North America immediately after Hasina's Royal foot step in US soil. The patient, Madam Hasina herself has been "walking in" to few of those exigent "DOWA services". Interesting!
In other news: From reliable intelligence source, the Care taker Government has been secretly negotiating with the new "Democratic-cum- Communist Government" of Nepal to lease their Royal Palace, recently vacated by King and loser Gayendra (now, FOR RENT) to accommodate our another amazing national character of Kangarro democracy Madam Khaleda and her 2 smart kids (to be released next week, likely 04 July!). But Khaleda has all along been aggressively resisting any such move (of going abroad) unlike her step-sister Hasina. I do not blame her and she has always been "allergic to" travelling abroad except frequent OMRA HAJ trips. It was early 2005, our President "YesUddin" asked her (Khaleda, then Prime Minister) to go and visit Myanmar; 2 days later they discovered her wondering in Mymensingh (near Dhaka)! No kidding!
Despite all these facts of so-called vilifying negativity against Hasina and Khaleda, this nation must be grateful to and salute them both for "rescuing" millions of innocent native lives from impending catastrophic consequences! I have no doubt in mind that 150 million proud people of Bangladesh MINUS Mohammad Gani have been ready 24/7 to die for the release these 2 historic role models. Thank God, no one yet had to die for their "releases", what a scary operation chaos this would have been! See, now the final chapter of this volcanic drama has ended peacefully with only "few hours hunger strike"! Isn't it cool?
It would obviously be boring to replay the same old records of our national culture of corruptions, extortion, grafts, Chandavazi, bribery etc again and again those made Bangladesh from a "bottomless basket" to the most corrupted country on earth. Thanks to our brilliant SOB (Son OF Bangladesh) "Kombal Chora" Late Alhaj Gazi Golam Mostafa who wisely planted the seeds of corruptions; and since then our "Queens of mean" recalcitrant Hasina and splenetic Khaleda maintained its successive and accelerated revolutionary massive bumper crops for last 15 years. With all these solid backgrounds, Bangladesh is now the "permanent Chairman" of all the corrupted countries in the world.( During this CTG which has increased by 2%. This so called susil supported, NRB favorite CTG has followed well Hasina and Khaleda. Well done CTG)
COMMENTARY: Let's simply be unambiguous and let the nation put all these turbulent political water under the bridge. Hasina and Khaleda (next week!) now are "free at last" but many political pundits believe that "dynastic democracy" in Bangladesh is finally at the last leg and the nation itself is becoming free "at last" from these 2 crook champions of nebulous democracy. The Care Taker Government apparently looks "diluted" comparing to its earlier hard line position! But no, not so fast! There are stories behind all these stories those are driving them along the shoulder lines! US Ambassador James F Moriarty recently said that he thought the caretaker government was proceeding on the right path and the government's efforts to create a strong democracy should bear fruit in the future.
Also, US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Donald Camp mentioned of the Care Taker Government making some important reforms and the reforms are being institutionalized, visibly a supporting sentiment to all these actions. More importantly, according to an April report of the International Crisis Group, diplomats from a number of Western countries, including the U.S., secretly urged General Moeenuddin to intervene in "checking" the beyond control anarchism and lawlessness fomented by Hasina gangs "political protests" immediately before 1/11/2007.
So, the popular MINUS 2 formula and REFORMS inside political parties are still on and have not been frozen at all. Sedulous Care Taker Government shall be girding for more tactical punches of its protracted struggle in defeating these "aggressive evils" of circus democracy as well as have the mission of establishing true democracy of "Accountability and transparency" in Bangladesh
The upcoming general election shall be held as scheduled on December 2008 and indeed without Hasina and Khaleda at the podium. What exactly we as a nation have been missing here are the Visionary leadership, Commitments, Accountability, Transparency and true enforcement of laws. Democratic process in Bangladesh shall this time take an extraordinary turn instead of a conventional one or of those brasses of so-called "free and fair election". The proposed early "local election" is just the beginning of eradicating AL/BNP hegemony and of laying the foundation toward the direction of hopes and dreams. Nation simply can't effort giving out free rides any longer to this notorious bunch of thieves for their perennial gross leadership failures. An amalgamated Parliament in January 2009 shall become a "fierce battle field" where its members would be running back and forth with the bloody noses! But from the same "Hell of Fire", a new democracy shall take re-birth with a new leadership who shall then carry the torch with the glory of true democracy to the doors 150 million people of Bangladesh.
This impoverished nation shall then embrace this new leader at their hearts for this new historic turn and for carrying the torch that was once lit by the spirits of freedom in 25 March 1971. This new STAR of democratic tenacity shall then eliminate darkness of our poverty, corruptions, and struggles bringing lights and hopes in our hearts and in the nation's minds.
Obviously, I would not say that political means is the ONLY way in which the law and the Government could possibly make us a better nation at large. It must play a role in the programs of moral education over the time too. One needs to think realistically and should not be emotionally driven. We also need to change our impressions on our prevalent belief that social control or the maintenance of public order is always contingent upon the formal laws governing our conducts and imposing legal sanctions against deviants. Thus, at this point, it would be impractical to expect absolutely perfect democracy overnight but it is our sincere hope and prayer that we do not sink back into the abyss of political hegemony that has plagued our country and our lives into endemic corruptions, bribery, grafts, extortions and patronage, nepotism and cronyism, embezzlement and kickbacks at all levels in the so-called democratic Government( And CTG has performing even better than AL and BNP in all these cases as proved from TIB reports). 300 million eyes are illuminated with hope and possibilities and their hearts are filled with the potential of what is attainable today with a fierce urgency, now!
(some susils and NRB's eye may be illuminated but majoirity of poor people have lost much of their eye sight being hungry ,lossing jobs, extorted by joint force)
It is the perfect timing to dismantle all the evil umbilical political cords of Khaleda and Hasina that appears immensely powerful than any ideological strength of morals.
Finally, we need to truly defend the best interests of 150 million people over defending our "favorite politicians and their bleak images". Political aspirations and inspirations for democracy among the people of Bangladesh often become emotionally- charged ambitions despite having chronic poverty in their day to day life style. A transition from the past leaders ubiquitous corruptions to a sustainable and progressive democratic nation could indeed deliver delightful smiles to 150 million ordinary men, women and children; preserve and protect our glorious history of struggle for freedom and also shall recognize the dignity of all the departed souls those laid down their lives for our causes, for our freedom.
At the heart of this current political transformation, we should have our many common grounds together; those could open new and bright horizons in the sky of our democracy with tremendous spirits, collaborations and participations and those are emerging from our souls with the incipient hopes for a better political change, for a new and challenge taking leadership with pragmatic vision and missions, imputed from our spirits of freedom, needs and expectations.
THE BOTTOM LINE: MINUS 2 is a Reality for next 5 years!
