Nation must pay respect to BongoTaj Tajuddin Ahmed for his historic contribution and leaderaship quality during our liberation war. He is one of the very few politicians who had the courage to tell the truth bluntly. In addition to Late Tajuddin Ahmed nation should also pay respect to his wife Senior Awami League Leader Mrs. Johra Tajuddin who led the party at the most critical period of Awami League.
I remember Tajuddin Ahmed's historic comment, after returning fronm Commonwealth Finance Ministers meeting at Dhaka Airport. As a Finance Minister he advised the than Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibor Rahman to form national government of all parties to solve national problems. Not only Sheikh Mujib rejected his advise he(Tajuddin Ahmed) lost his job and he never regained his Ministerial rank until his death. That is historically true.
If Sheikh Mujib had considered his advise at that time, Bangladesh's destiny could have been different now.
